A Dental Humanitarian Trip

A Dental Humanitarian Trip

In November 2023, Sprig teamed up with Mason Gives for a special dental humanitarian trip combined with a unique CE experience. For one week, doctors provided much needed dental care for the indigenous people of the Guatemalan highlands and got to experience the incredible local culture. By night, the team took part in interactive and informative CE.

About Mason Gives

We are the Quayles and we didn’t want to wait any longer to make a difference in the world. There is never a “right time” to do something like we are doing and it took us too long to realize this and just go for it. In the Summer of 2018 we set off from home and ended up 3,000 miles away in rural Panajachel, Guatemala. This was our “home base” while we reached out to neighboring communities and provided much needed dental care. We have four kids (14, 11, 9 and 5 years old) and we wanted to give our kids the opportunity to see the world and think beyond themselves. We wanted to give them a broader vision for life. We wanted to write a better story for our family. Some call us crazy, others call us dreamers. Regardless of what they say, we went for it.

6 Years ago our family began planning to accomplish our goal of moving to rural Guatemala for a year to provide dental care. During this planning period we determined there was not a current non-profit organization to help us accomplish our unique goal. Because a path didn’t exist, we created our own. In 2017 we established Mason Gives. Mason Gives is a non-profit organization established to help us accomplish our goal of providing comprehensive dental care for the children and their parents in impoverished areas everywhere but especially in the highlands of Guatemala.

In the Summer of 2019 we returned back to the United States. We accomplished our goal of living in a developing country for nearly a year and providing much needed dental education and comprehensive dental care. During our year in Guatemala we learned so much about their culture, the needs of the people and how we can provide even better care in the future. Stay with us as we move into the next chapter of educating and giving in Guatemala and around the world.

Come with us and help us write the next chapter of Mason Gives by participating in one of our dental humanitarian missions, family cultural/humanitarian missions or youth leadership weeks. A great story is better when you share it with others. Come be a part of our story!
